STAGES OF LOSS & GRIEF:
Grief is a natural response to the realization that you have an illness effecting every area of your life. You may experience losses that may include giving up the job and income you depend on. The number of losses, large and small, may accumulate and become overwhelming. There may be other losses throughout the course of FMS. Acknowledge those losses as they occur and allow your self time to grieve. Small losses may only cause hours of grieving, while larger losses will take longer. All losses will require adjustments in your thinking and lifestyle. The stages of loss and grief are the same stages you would experience if you suffered the death of a loved one: denial, bargaining, anger, depression, and acceptance. In the case of illness, acceptance often means restructuring life to accommodate the illness.
A LIST OF GENTLE AFFIRMATIONS:
I am strong and can take control in my life concerning this disease. I am capable of solving the problems facing me. I am able to meet the challenge of this illness. I am capable of taking charge of my Fibromyalgia. I love and believe in myself at all times. I love and accept myself just as I am. I am learning to relax and let go. I am making time for rest and relaxation. I am willing to ask others for the support I need. It's okay if I make mistakes. I don't have to be perfect. My inherent value is not dependent upon what I can do.

A FIBROMYALGIA PRAYER FOR YOU:
Heavenly Father we come to you in the name of Jesus asking that you would bless all that visit this site, and especially those with daily Chronic Pain. We ask comfort for the pain, peace of mind, humility that we might understand others better. May all that stay awake in the night hours because of their discomfort be blessed with a love and compassion for others that are suffering also. Help us through our pain to find special times of meditation with you. We seek your healing and we pray for doctors and researchers that they will find a cause and a cure for this disease. Where there is doubt and depression we pray that you would replace it with faith and trust in you. We give you all the praise and glory in Jesus name... AMEN.
"I pray that according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you bestrengthened in your inner being with power through his spirt" Ephesians 3:16
