Daddy always said it'll get better in the Spring.
His heart was light and in his voice was a gentle ring.
He made me feel like I could do anything.
It'll get better in the Spring.
Good times will come and good times will go
but what really counts is what is in your soul.
Just press on and don't allow yourself to get too low.
It'll get better in the Spring
Take the time to know who you really are.
Take your pain and let it light a shining star.
No matter where you go your heart can move you far.
It'll get better in the Spring.
The bumps and valleys will take on you a toll.
If you allow them to they will take your very soul,
but there's a way that will make your life whole
It'll get better in the Spring
The winter may be disheartening and long.
But if you try you can sing a little song
that will lighten your load and make you strong.
It'll get better in the Spring.
Daddy's hands grew old and full of pain.
His eyes were dim and his heart restrained.
His breathing waxed shallow but he would still explain.
It'll get better in the Spring.
Daddy knew that indeed his Spring would come.
For his dreams were driven by the great and Holy One.
His faith was strong and lasted till his days were done.
It'll get better in the Spring.
One day he breathed his last upon this earth.
It broke my heart to know that he was gone.
But his Spring had come and his new life is rebirthed
I now remember.... it'll get better in the Spring.
